So I'm not sure that I mentioned this before, but I'm going to Kenya in August! I'm still in shock about the whole idea despite the fact that I bought the tickets 2 months ago and have already gotten most of my shots, oh so many shots, with more to come. I am going with my aunt to help dig a well in a place called Kitutu (I didn't know about the well digging when I bought the ticket). It's very exciting to think about traveling such a long way to see a place so unlike anything I have ever seen before.
I just finished reading President Obamas' book Dreams from my Father and it was wonderful. The interesting thing is that it starts in Hawaii, where I just was, and ends in Kenya, where I am about to go. I will be sure to take a lot of pictures and I will try to keep a log so I can write down all the interesting things I saw while I was there when I get back. If I can I will write while I am there but I have no guarantees that I will be anywhere near a computer at any time.
Also I am going to be working at Camlann Medieval Faire again this summer up until I leave. It's in Carnation and I highly recommend it. Once again I will be a serving wench in The Bors Hede Inn so come and check it out on Sundays July 19 until August 9th. Laugh if you dare but remember I carry a knife and all you will have is a spoon! I will try to take pictures of the faire to post before I leave, check out their website at www.camlann.org!
