Cat Hats!!

Finally I have made the Cat Hats that everyone is so nutty for. I'll post a few examples. But they are on my etsy shop (www.littlebluebunny.etsy.com) and ready for sale. It's great to have them ready for the holidays. I have already purchased most of my gifts for friends and family so now I can relax and enjoy the holidays!

Wet Weather

I have slowed down on my projects. I think it's the cold weather. I feel really down because of the bad weather. It's just gloomy all day long. It's like living in a gothic novel.
I got the cutest pair of rain boots though, with little skulls on them so I can be fashionable while I stomp in rain puddles. Now I am hoping for rain so I have an excuse to wear them.

Pretty Scarves

Finally I got my Etsy shop set up!! There is hardly anything in it yet, but I have a couple of scarves for sale and I should have some hats in there soon. Check out the pretty colors of my scarves here or buy them at www.littlebluebunny.etsy.com! The blue one is my favorite I call it the Tropical Beach scarf.

Coming Soon

It finally started raining here in Seattle and it is miserable. Pepe (see his picture at left) refuses to go outside and will only pee when forcibly placed on the grass. Then he runs straight back inside.

The rain gets everywhere and I have resigned myself to 6 months of having cold wet feet.

Also coming soon we can expect storms with flooding in some areas.

But in happier news there is something else coming soon, I have finally gotten hooked up to Etsy and should be opening a shop there soon with the name Little Blue Bunny. In the next few days I will be posting some crafty things in both places. Here for seeing and there for buying.

Also congratulations to America for making the right choice, I can finally relax a little, I now have hope for the future again.

Happy November , keep your feet dry!

A Crows Encounter

Halloween was fun, went to a party and enjoyed myself, though I was home by midnight (didn''t want to turn into a pumpkin!) Here is a picture of me in my angel costume with my chihuahua Pepe.

I made the tulle skirt (which of course isn't visible) and the wings were kindly given as a gift last Christmas by my dear friend Seana.

Pepe is looking at my friend Sara who declined to go to the party with me arguing a lack of costume. When I offered to dress her up as a polish maiden (my costume last year) she declined, I can't imagine why.

However that was not the most exciting thing t0 happen to me this weekend.
Yesterday while walking home from my painting class (I'll post my painting later this week), I stopped for a bag of tortilla chips at the grocery store. It's only two blocks from the store to my house and halfway there I noticed a crow hopping along in front of me as though perhaps he was fluttering away from me from perch to perch. Then I came even with him and he kept pace beside me for a little ways. Finally I passed him and was walking along minding my own business, when I felt a whack in the back of my head followed by the sound of fluttering wings.
I turned around and asked the people behind me if I had just been hit in the back of the head by a crow. Laughing they confirmed that I had and said the crow had been following me for at least a block. I pretended to shake my fist at the bird and asked "what did I ever so to you?" before continuing on my way, whereupon I was hit in the back of the head again.
After that I made sure I was facing the crow at all times, and while he fluttered at me a few times more, he didn't run into me again. He followed me all the way home and then hopped onto my porch when I went inside.
Thinking better of it I went back outside and gave him a tortilla chip, reasoning that either a chip was what he was following me for, or else it was the spirit of someone I knew in bird form and I should be nice to them.

I wrote an e-mail to a bird watcher friend of mine and perhaps she will have some ideas why this would happen but I have already found two friends to whom this has happened so it isn't all that rare. And here I thought it was a sign from the universe that I should start reading tarot or check to make sure all my friends were okay. At any rate I was afraid to leave my house for the rest of the day for fear that he would be waiting for me.

Pumpkin Carving

Here is our Days of the Dead Altar. A Mexican holiday that celebrates our departed ancestors and loved ones.

Last night I carved my Halloween pumpkins. Of course I live in an apartment so I only have a fire escape to put them on. but here they are.

I think the one on the top looks kind of scared.

October in Seattle

My mom had been pressuring me to start a blog forever as a way to express my creativity. I think maybe it will also be a good way to express myself in general. Right now I'm unemployed in the beautiful Emerald City, which actually is beautiful today. The sun is shining the leaves are changing color and I'm going to imagine that birds are chirping even though I am actually inside and couldn't hear them if they were.
I'm trying to decide what to do for Halloween this year. Last year I threw together the costume of a traditional Polish maiden in one day. I have no ideas for this year though. If I make one I will be sure to post a picture. Eventually I will hopefully also get pictures up of my projects and paintings.
I'm planning to carve a pumpkin tonight so stay tuned for a spooky jack o' lantern pic!
